Typical TV Taping When I was young I remember taking my dad to the airport what seemed like every week. AS my sister and I hung our heads out the window threw the DFW Airport tunnel screaming one continuous scream trying to out do the one another. It was a contest my dad made up to distract us from being upset that he was leaving once again…
Now, present day. My son is having to say goodbye to me every week and we play the same game threw the LAX tunnel. We hate leaving each other but if daddy can do it I can. That’s what I tell myself when I'm catching the Sunday red eye in a middle coach seat as a child kicks the back of my chair for 5 freakin hours!
When I wake up with the commotion of turbulence from a dream I was having of the plane crashing (thank you creative mind), I pay attention as the flight attendant tells us we are finally landing. I do the same visualization every time, I close my eyes and think of a smooth take off, flying threw the air with no problems, and landing with ease on the run way. It helps me not have a heart attack.
When I exit the plane its a half hour wait for bags at 6am in Orlando (3am LA time). Then its off to my stretch limo AKA Mears Shuttle, with 5 other people that are way too happy for how early it is. But at least I get to see where there all staying and ride with them to each of their destinations! (NOT!) I just fake sleep the whole time (sorry shuttle buddies, I faked that drool!)
Finally at my hotel, I'm greeted by Madison at the door (my roommate on the road). We take a shower together and get in our twin size bed we share (just kidding guys!). I get 3 hours of sleep and then off to the studio for another amazing day of tapings (not being sarcastic for once).
First is make-up, where I'm magically transformed into something presentable for TV. The make-up room is where we have the funniest yet disgusting and inappropriate conversations AKA My favorite room. As people run in and out throwing scripts and times in the air we try to make since of it all and be ready for anything. Some things are written that day or even hour before we shoot.
Its usually about 5 or 6 hours before we film so I eat catering, bullshit with the wrestlers, and do half naked photo shoots, and then spend at least half hour photo shopping those photos to cover my 3rd nipple and balls (just kidding!) Sorry this column was getting boring so I had to make myself laugh.
Anyway, When I'm done embarrassing myself in the ring (I promise I'm trying to get better!). Some of us go have a beer. You just get such a rush of adrenaline and hyperness from being out there in front of the crowd I feel like I need something to calm me down so I can sleep. My particular remedy is good ol' fashion bucket bud light. MMMMMmmmmm I think I'm going to stop writing and go get some. Hold on................................................... K I'm backdjd sorry i thjink I drank too much toooooo typdkje.
