Lacey Lately 4/15/2010I was asked to write a column every other week starting now. So your going to read what I write and like it. (Just kidding).
On the road.
For those who don't know, TNA goes on the road every week to different locations around the U.S. to do what’s called "House Shows" AKA a chain of stressful events and travel followed by a rewarding experience at an arena full of my favorite people (our fans). We all choose our travel partners to share cars, hotels, and gossip with. Mine of course were "my girls" AKA "The Beautiful People" and Angelina Love, who I've grown quite fond of.
We left straight from TV in Orlando on Thursday morning. Velvet Sky and her boyfriend were on my flight, which included a wonderful layover of a whopping 30 min. in Atlanta, which turned into missing our flight (along with everyone else having to run 5 terminals away in 5 min). So we made the best of our first stressful event by drinking beers at 11am at the nearest airport lounge for 2 hours.
When we arrived (eventually) to Kentucky our chariot of a rental car awaited to drive us 2 hours to our first arena in Corbin Kentucky, AKA middle of nowhere. It was there where we met up with the rest of the traveling circus. It went smoothly and the crowd was amazing making the first stressful day all worth while.
Day 2, we wake up to knocks on the motel door followed by a voice repeating "room service". After we scared her away by shouting, "leave us the hell alone" it was check out time followed by a not so wonderful 3 hour drive. After a delicious feast at Cracker Barrel with Madison and Angelina we arrived at the next arena in Pikeville, KY and as Angelina likes to quote "Where the hell are we". We arrive at the show, signed autographs at intermission, and have an all around good performance, kicking Tara and Angelina's butt, by cheating of course with our special pepper spray in Tara's eye's and Madison countering her widows peak with a sneaky pin.
After the show was a not so appetizing Applebee’s where Angelina rightfully sent her food back at least 3 times with good reason! I wouldn't have eaten half the crap they put in front of her. I stuck to a salad and a half gallon of Bud Light.
Day 3, We're exhausted, emotional, I miss my son desperately... And the only thing getting us through is the fact that its our last show. With another 3 hour drive ahead of us to Huntington, West Virginia we were on the road, making prank phone calls to random fans giving out there #'s on facebook. It was pretty funny, and great entertainment (thanks guys). Our last show was the best by far, great crowd, and amazing fans!
With the great people of Kentucky and West Virginia, the large accommodating arenas, and my girls by my side, all the stress, emotions, sadness, and the fact I had a 5am flight the next morning, disappeared. I cant wait to go on the road agian...
Till next time. Have you read Lacey Lately?
